World Food Programme “WFP” stands ready to expand the school feeding project to include teachers in Yemen:

Minister of Education HE Dr. Abdullah Salem Lamlas, accompanied by H.E Asmahan Abdulhameed Al-Toqi, Ambassador of Yemen to Italy Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies based in Rome, meets Mr. Amir Mahmoud Abdulla Deputy Executive Director at World Food Programme, and expresses appreciation of the Yemeni government to the world Food Program “WFP” for the resumption of the School Feeding Project in Yemen which is an important project to support food security education and building resilience in Yemen Benefiting thousands of children in schools.

Lamlas requests to increase the number of beneficiaries of the project to 3 million students as well as inclusion of teachers in the project, because they are part of the educational process in order to ensure the sustainability of education.

For his part, Deputy Executive Director at World Food Programme expresses WFP commitment to continue to support food security and nutrition in Yemen, in cooperation with relative UN and international agencies.
